Functional nanopores for enzyme stabilization

This project focuses on the formulation of enzymes for industrial applications.

In a liquid detergent, enzymes are exposed to extreme conditions (high pH values, surfactants, chelating agents) causing quick denaturation and inactivation. To prevent such effects, different strategies (conjugation, adsorption, incorporation) are pursued to enhance enzyme stability which is directly connected to an increase in product performance. Using different analytical tools allows colloidal, bio- and physicochemical characterizations. This project is funded and mainly performed within the laboratories of BASF SE.
